Kelly's Heroes

Gold bars in a French bank become the target for a band of misfits operating behind enemy lines.

During the advance across France in late 1944, Allied armored divisions consumed over 300,000 gallons of fuel daily. This logistical demand outpaced the capacity of supply lines stretching back to Normandy. The resulting fuel shortages halted entire armies, allowing retreating German forces to regroup and fortify the frontier.
